Accounting built for a marketplace, not a merchant
Collebrity operates as a marketplace connecting brands and creators — collecting payments, managing settlements and earning commission-based revenue. Nexos Soft is implementing Zoho Books configured around a marketplace (aggregator) accounting model, so only the platform fee is recognised as revenue while creator earnings are tracked as a liability rather than a pass-through expense.
The solution design
The system is structured so that every payment received is automatically split into creator payable, platform fee revenue and statutory liabilities — with wallet-based refunds and withdrawal fees handled through the same accounting logic.
Chart of accounts
Structured to separate platform fee revenue from creator payables and wallet balances.
Vendor & contact setup
Creators and talent managers configured as vendors, brands as customers.
Transaction flow configuration
Payments split automatically into creator payable, platform fee and GST on receipt.
Tax configuration
GST, TDS and TCS applied only where applicable, with dedicated reporting for each.
API mapping
Accounting triggers defined for payment, order, refund and payout events from the platform.
Reporting
Commission revenue, creator payables, wallet balances and statutory reports.
Delivery approach
A focused engagement moving from accounting design through configuration, tax setup and integration mapping to testing and go-live, with admin and user training included ahead of launch.
